In 1969, FMC’s John Bean Division sold its first cargo loader, the JCL, to Delta Air Lines. The JCL, an acronym for Jumbo Container Loader, was designed for handling the first wide body aircraft, the Boeing 747 which was later followed by the Douglas DC-10 and Lockheed L-1011.
